It has been shown that Heat pumps can be up to 4 times more efficient than traditional heating systems, making them a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option for both residential and commercial buildings.
A heat pump is a device that uses a refrigeration cycle to transfer heat from one location to another. The process involves a refrigerant that absorbs heat from the outdoor air, ground, or water and transfers it indoors. Here’s a simplified overview of how it works:
Evaporation: The refrigerant absorbs heat from the outdoor air and turns into a gas.
Compression: The gas is compressed, which increases its temperature and pressure.
Condensation: The hot gas is then condensed into a liquid, releasing its heat indoors.
Expansion: The liquid refrigerant expands, cooling it down.
Evaporation: The cooled refrigerant then absorbs heat from the outdoor air and the cycle repeats.
This process can be reversed to provide cooling by reversing the flow of the refrigerant.
